Michigan -15.5 over Wake Forest (loss)
Wake Forest upset the Wolverines last year by a bucket in a very entertaining early-season non-conference game. Tonight’s game will be on a neutral court at Little Caesars Arena, home of the Detroit Pistons. Tonight’s venue is less than an hour from campus, which is likely to attract a pro-Michigan crowd. Both teams, like just about every college team, lost a lot of key players from last season, but the Demon Decons will miss the services of Hunter Sallis, who is now with the 76ers organization. I am not sure Wake will be able to secure key rebounds with the departure of Efton Reid, who is now playing professionally in Finland. Tre’Von Spiller is a great player, but I don’t think Wake Forest can handle the physicalness Michigan will bring to the floor tonight. The Wolverines have a significant size advantage. 5-star recruit Trey McKenney is going to be filthy rich in a year. It will be challenging for Wake Forest to stop the Michigan guards, and a nightmare for them to contain the big men, Aday Mara, Yaxel Lendeborg, and Will Tschetter. Take Michigan.
