Rotation # 301-302
49ers/Rams Over 43.5 (win)
The Rams are coming off a thrilling win over the Colts and now have a quick turnaround in a critical NFC West battle. Los Angeles returns all five starters from the offensive line a year ago and has team camaraderie, returning their top running back and receivers from a year ago. The addition of Davante Adams has been an added plus. The 49ers are still breaking in a new defensive system under coordinator Robert Salah and will miss the ability of Nick Bosa to pressure the quarterback for the rest of the season. The Rams’ offensive line should give the quarterback ample time to make wise decisions. Rams QB Matthew Stafford should be able to use his running game to set up the pass, as he will spread the field to find open targets. The 49ers are again going with Mac Jones at quarterback, as Brock Purdy is out with a toe injury. The 49ers were hit hard with the injury bug at receiver as George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk are out of the lineup, as are Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall. The San Francisco front office did a fine job acquiring the likes of Marquez Valdez-Scantling and Kendrick Boune. Offensive Coordinator Klay Kubiak is offsetting the lack of talent on the field by speeding up the tempo, which helps make games more high-scoring by quick scoring strikes or silly turnovers that lead to opponent points. The 49ers are talented enough with their running game that defenses can’t pin their ears back. Mac Jones is a capable backup who should do enough to keep the offense competitive in this game. Take the Over.

Rotation # 913
Red Sox +135 over Yankees (loss)
Early/Schllittler
It’s a win-or-go-home game for both teams, and it’s interesting to see a battle between two young rookies. I don’t trust either starting pitcher in this spot, and this should quickly turn into a bullpen game. Boston clearly had the much better bullpen this season, so I trust them more in the later innings. We will take a shot on the underdog with decent value at +135. Take the Red Sox.
