The Mariners’ comeback attempt against the A’s came up short last night, so they will be eager to get back into the winner’s circle, facing an inexperienced Rangers starter, Kumar Rocker. Rocker has been knocked around a lot and is the perfect opportunity in front of the Mariners to get their offense back on track. Texas has a much better offense on the road and should do enough against George Kirby to make this a higher-scoring game. T-Mobile Park is not a hitting-friendly stadium, but neither starting pitcher deserves to have the line set this low as if Randy Johnson was facing Nolan Ryan, especially in the era of ghost runners placed on second to start extra innings.
