Matt Nagy comes over from the Chiefs to take over as offensive coordinator. Jaxson Dart returns as the starting quarterback. Cam Skattebo returns from injury and joins Tyrone Tracy Jr., Devin Singletary, and Najee Harris in a deep backfield. The Giants are also high on Notre Dame rookie Malachi Fields. Odell Beckham Jr. is back in town looking to revive his career. The offensive line returns four starters from last year: Andrew Thomas, Jon Runyan Jr., John Michael Schmitz, and Jermaine Eluemunor. Miami Hurricanes rookie Francis Mauigoa opens the season at right guard. Dart suffered a knee injury on the opening drive against the Rams in Week 2 and did not return. He will miss the remainder of the regular season. Jameis Winston is now QB1, and the Giants will likely hunt for help at such a vital position.
Dennard Wilson comes over from the Titans to take over as defensive coordinator. The Giants lost top tacklers Bobby Okereke and Dane Belton. The front seven will have many new faces this year. Shelby Harris comes over from Cleveland, D.J. Reader from the Lions, Tremaine Edmunds from Chicago, and rookie Arvell Reese from Ohio State. Brian Burns, Abdul Carter, and Kayvon Thibodeaux return as the edge group. Skattebo has returned from his rookie-season injury, while Dart’s knee injury leaves the quarterback position as the season’s biggest question mark.
