Bobby Hauck takes over as defensive coordinator. Illinois returns four of its top eleven tacklers from last season, including leading tackler Matthew Bailey, while four of its top five tacklers have departed. The front seven faces considerable turnover, with linebacker James Kreutz the only returning top-11 tackler in the group after making one start last season.
