The Bills finished 12-5 last year but have moved on from the Sean McDermott era, hiring Joe Brady, last year’s offensive coordinator, as head coach. Pete Carmichael Jr. arrives from the Broncos as offensive coordinator. Josh Allen returns at quarterback. The running back room remains with James Cook, Ray Davis, and Ty Johnson. Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, and tight end Dalton Kincaid return as key pieces in the passing game. D.J. Moore joins the team after playing for the Bears last year. Dion Dawkins, Connor McGovern, O’Cyrus Torrence, and Spencer Brown return as offensive line starters. The Bills added depth with Austin Corbett from Carolina and Lloyd Cushenberry from Tennessee.

Jim Leonhard moves from assistant head coach to defensive coordinator. The Bills have plenty of turnover on defense, with just five of the top eleven tacklers returning from last season. Deone Walker, Ed Oliver, Greg Rousseau, Dorian Williams, and Terrel Bernard return to the front seven, along with Bradley Chubb, who comes over from Miami. Christian Benford and Cole Bishop return to the secondary. Dee Alford and C.J. Gardner-Johnson join the group.

Jeff Rodgers, who was recently with the Cardinals, takes over as special teams coordinator. Tyler Bass did not play last year, but he returns after a successful 2024 campaign in which he connected on 83% of his field goals, including a 61-yarder. Florida rookie Tommy Doman Jr. will take over punting duties. Ray Davis will factor into the kickoff return game, while Dee Alford will handle punt return duties. The Bills are more offense-minded now with Brady as head coach. Buffalo is deep with talent on that side of the ball, but the turnover on defense leaves a few wrinkles to work out.
