2026 Baltimore Ravens Season Preview

The Ravens missed a field goal that would have won the AFC North, and the fallout was massive. John Harbaugh is out, and Jesse Minter takes over as head coach with a brand-new staff. Thirty-year-old Declan Doyle takes over as offensive coordinator. Lamar Jackson returns at quarterback. Jackson suffered an ankle injury against Tennessee in Week 4 and did not return. He is considered day-to-day, and the injury is not expected to be long-term. Derrick Henry returns at running back. The Ravens return five of their top eight receivers from last year, including Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, Devontez Walker, and tight end Mark Andrews. Rookie receiver Ja’Kobi Lane was placed on injured reserve after suffering a fractured wrist in the season opener. Ronnie Stanley and Roger Rosengarten return to the offensive line, along with John Simpson from the Jets, Ethan Pocic from the Browns, and Penn State rookie Vega Ioane. Jovaughn Gwyn comes over from Atlanta and won the starting center job, while Ioane opens the season at right guard. Andrew Vorhees also returns to provide experience and depth.
Anthony Weaver comes over from the Dolphins to become the defensive coordinator. The Ravens return their top six tacklers from a year ago and ten of their top eleven overall. Nnamdi Madubuike returns to the front seven after playing just two games last year, along with Travis Jones, John Jenkins, Tavius Robinson, Teddye Buchanan, and Roquan Smith. The Ravens welcome Calais Campbell from Arizona and Trey Hendrickson from Cincinnati. Nate Wiggins, Chidobe Awuzie, Kyle Hamilton, Malaki Starks, and Marlon Humphrey return to the secondary, along with Jaylinn Hawkins, who played for New England last year.
Anthony Levine remains on staff and takes over the special teams coaching duties. The Ravens return Tyler Loop, who had an outstanding year and is looking to redeem himself after the Week 18 miss against the Steelers that cost the team a trip to the postseason. Michigan State rookie Ryan Eckley is the new punter. LaJohntay Wester and Rasheen Ali handle the return duties. Regrouping as an organization after 18 years under John Harbaugh will be challenging, but Baltimore has the pieces to get right back in the thick of things. Lamar Jackson will again carry a lot on his shoulders, and the Ravens will need him to lead the way if they are going to make another postseason push.
